Drumlin - The #1 PDF Security Solution

Drumlin "Click and Go" and Javelin readers

NOTE: The Drumlin Version 5 "Click and Go" reader is now superceded by the new Javelin reader, which includes "Click and Go" operation for MS Windows computers. The functionality is very similar but Javelin reads the new format secured PDF files (DRMX files) created by Drumlin Version 6. Please see theJavelinpage for more details

The Drumlin "Click and Go" facility provides a single combined "Document Plus Reader" (a single executable file, or EXE) avoiding the complexity of software installation and registration. Use the "Sample ebooks" page to try it now, or click the screenshot below for a video. EXE files are created using the mainDrumlinPDF reader/publisher software, which packages your secured PDF file, in encrypted form (a Drumlin DRMX file) with the special Drumlin "Click and Go" reader. Please clickherefor a short video demo of how to create a "Click and Go" file. See theRelease notespage for updates on the functionality of the Drumlin readers. Javelin readers are available for Windows, Mac OSX and (shortly) iPAD - see our Javelin downloads page for more details

Screen

Securing and Authorizing "Click and Go" files

Standard "Click and Go" EXE files are just like other Drumlin "fully secured PDFs" - they require a valid authorization code before they can be read on a specific PC and cannot be read on another PC once the authorization code has been used UNLESS the code allows for multiple use. Files may be protected against: text copying, printing (optional print count may be set) start and end dates, screen grabber protection, password proetction, watermarking etc. Each EXE file created has a unique ID, and authorization codes are issued in blocks (typically of 100) to publishers. An initial set of up to 10 codes are provided without charge, each of which can be used 5 times. Additional codes must be ordered from theStore

More options:Two additional variants of the "Click and Go" reader are now supported in the main Drumlin File menu, Publishing option (Create exe):

  • the option to create an exe file that is authorized offline, so does not require an online connection via the internet. This option requires the end user to enter a username and their email address when they run the exe, and then provide an authorization code delivered to them from the publisher (which is checked locally, not remotely). This authorization code is generated by the publisher from the tools menu, Calculate Hash... option. It asks for the DRMX file to be authorized, the username and email to be used, and generates the code required based on this information. Note that only DRMX files created by the publisher in question can be used to generate these codes
  • the option to create an exe file that does not require authorization, i.e. is simply run by the end user
